Long Island’s own Andre Cisco, currently a star safety for the Jacksonville Jaguars, is returning to his roots this weekend for a meaningful cause.
The Valley Stream native, who made a name for himself at St. Anthony’s High School, IMG Academy and Syracuse University, is organizing a free youth football camp at Valley Stream Central High School (135 Fletcher Ave., Valley Stream) on Saturday, June 15, running from 9 a.m. to noon.
He’s excited to give back to the place that raised him.
“Returning to Long Island and giving back to the community that shaped me is something I’ve
always dreamed of,” said Cisco. “I’m excited to meet all the young athletes and share my experiences and love for the game with them.”
The camp is open to children aged six to 15, with registration starting at 8 a.m. More details can be found here.
Cisco, born in Queens, was drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft after an impressive college career where he earned accolades such as ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year (2018), and First-team All-ACC (2018) and Second-team All-ACC (2019).
During his time with the Jags, Cisco has played in 47 games, amassing 161 total tackles, seven interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks.
