All passengers were unharmed, and the vessel was towed back to port.


According to the Riverhead Police Department, dispatchers received a 911 call on Tuesday, May 7 at approximately 10 p.m. regarding a 17-foot boat adrift without power in Peconic Bay in Riverhead.


 


There were five passengers stranded on the boat at the time, police say, who proceeded to utilize a drone to search Peconic Bay until the vessel in question – and it’s passengers – was located. At that time, police dispatched a Dive Team to the boat’s location to rescue the passengers.


 


All passengers were unharmed, police say, and the vessel was towed back to port.
