Evening to include pregame autograph session with Liberty guard Courtney Vandersloot, and co-branded LI Nets and Liberty tote bag giveaway for first 1,000 fans in attendance.


The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will host its annual Women’s Impact game this Thursday, March 21 when the team faces the Indiana Mad Ants at 7 p.m. at Nassau Coliseum. 


The Long Island Nets will honor its WNBA sister team in a variety of ways during the evening, including players wearing co-branded Liberty x LI Nets jerseys, designed to resemble the Liberty’s Rebel Edition uniforms worn during the WNBA team’s historic 2023 season. The jerseys will be auctioned at a later date with all proceeds going towards Girls Inc. of Long Island, a nonprofit organization that supports girls through direct service and advocacy.



The first 1,000 fans in attendance on Thursday will receive a special edition co-branded Liberty x LI Nets gradient tote bag and prior to tipoff, New York Liberty guard Courtney Vandersloot will participate in an autograph session at 6 p.m. To register for the autograph session, please visit here.


The LI Nets will also host a pregame panel discussion on women’s empowerment and advocacy at 5 p.m. The panel is open for all ticket holders to attend and will feature prominent women in the nonprofit and sports industries, including New York Liberty Legend, Sue WicksTammy Severino, President & CEO of Girls Scouts of Suffolk CountyRenee Flagler, Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Long Island; and Morgan Taylor, Vice President of Business Operations for the New York Liberty and Long Island Nets.


At halftime, the Long Island Nets will honor Girls Inc. of Long Island as the Community Hero of the Game. Together, the two organizations have partnered for the last three seasons to expose girls to different career avenues in the sports industry. Following the conclusion of the game, the team will host an all-female open run on the LI Nets court with Run It Back, a non-profit dedicated to fostering networking opportunities for professionals.

The LI Nets will also recognize Staff Sergeant Denise C. James, United States Army, of Freeport as the Veteran of the Game, presented by Mas Imaging, for 34 years of service as a senior human resource specialist.


Thursday’s Women’s Impact game is the culmination of a series of community events the LI Nets hosted throughout March to celebrate Women’s History Month, including organizing an all-girls basketball clinic for 75 students and an all-girls dance workshop for 35 students at the Yes We Can Community Center led by Long Island Nets Dance Head Coach Kristen Greto.
