On Monday, Sept. 25, Jeramya Sloan, also known as “JuJu,” was sentenced to 46 months in prison for selling weapons across Suffolk County, according to the Eastern District of New York U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Sloan, who is from Selden and East Patchogue, admitted to selling the guns from December 2019 through January 2021 to people he thought were Bloods gang members.

Of the eight gun transactions involved in his case, the Attorney’s Office detailed that Sloan sold:

  • A semi-automatic pistol with the serial number “obliterated;”
  • Two “ghost guns” (a gun with no make, model, or serial number; these are often untraceable); and
  • Two magazines (one fully loaded, and one high-capacity).

During his November 2021 arrest, police found additional ammunition in Sloan’s home.

“The recovery of each and every gun sold by Sloan potentially prevented death or serious injury,” said United States Attorney Breon Peace of the Eastern District of New York.

Sloan pleaded guilty to firearm trafficking in June 2022.
