Car collectors gather at the Flowerfield Fairground.

Interest in customizing and collecting cars has grown dramatically in recent years. It’s hard to say when car collecting started, some older car clubs started in the 1930’s. Long Island Motors is one of those groups that wants to preserve the history and fun of car collecting; promoting the car hobby on Long Island for over 40 years.

Join the Comrades for the Long Island Motors “Super Swap Sunday” Auto Show and Swap Meet at the Parkside Dr. Flowerfield Fairgrounds in St. James on Sunday, August 20th. Once a turn-of-the-century flower farm, Flowerfield Fairgrounds is where countless car enthusiasts gather to showcase their cars and trade car parts.

Classic and collectible cars, including show cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s, one-of-a-kind custom cars, vintage cars, exotic cars, street cars, muscle cars and imports, will compete for trophies in a graded judging process.

The event will also include a Long Island Auto Signing Swap, meeting well-stocked vendors offering used parts, literature, accessories and collectibles for swap and sale. If you’re looking to buy a collectible car, check out the car sales section where owners will sell cars directly to the public.

You’ll experience live music from “The Fugitives,” fun market food, and more.
