On Saturday, July 23 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Nassau County Police received reports of an incident on the Long Island Expressway in Plainview.

When they arrived, they saw a 2023 Nissan Altima near Exit 46.

Inside the car, the driver was lying on the steering wheel, and the car was still moving.

Police pulled the car into the parking lot and found the driver’s face and clothes covered in a powdery substance.

The driver, Dorian Lewandowicz, 25, of Lemont, Illinois, about 28 miles southwest of Chicago, was arrested after police determined he had been injured.

He is accused of:

  • reckless danger,
  • assault,
  • criminal possession of a controlled substance,
  • Tampering with physical evidence.

He will appear in court again on Friday, July 28.
