According to Suffolk County Police, the attack occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, in Brentwood outside a residence on MacArthur Avenue near Merrill Street.

While the victim was sitting in a chair on the sidewalk, two men pulled up in front of him in a black car, investigators said.

Two men got out of the car and one of them approached the victim and stabbed him in the stomach, police said. They then returned to their car and fled the scene.

The victim, who has not been identified by police, was taken by ambulance to South Shore University Hospital in Gulf Shores in a critical condition.

Police did not speculate on a possible motive for the attack. As of Monday, July 24, no suspects had been arrested.
