The incident occurred on Friday, July 21 at approximately 7:50 pm in Manhasset.
According to Nassau County police detectives, two 14-year-old girls were sitting on a bench at 27 Manhasset Avenue when the man approached them and exposed himself to them.
The victim fled the scene immediately and notified her parents of the incident.
After a thorough investigation, 22-year-old Christian Sarmiento of Port Washington was arrested without incident.
During the investigation it was determined that Sarmiento was responsible for the wrongful arrest of a 16-year-old girl in Great Neck Estates on Sunday, July 16.
Sarmiento is accused of:
- two counts of public indecency
- Three counts of endangering the welfare of a child,
- force touch,
- sexual abuse.
He is due to appear at Hempstead 1 Local Court on Sunday, July 23.
