The robbery happened at Huntington Station on Thursday, July 13 at about 2:30pm.
At that point, the suspect entered the New York Community Bank/Roslyn Bank at 693 E. Jericho Turnpike and passed a note threatening violence and demanding money.
The teller obliged, and the suspect fled on foot with the proceeds.
In the early afternoon of Friday, July 21, after an investigation by Homicide Squad detectives, Steven J. Reyes, 35, of Huntington, was arrested and charged with robbery.
He was held overnight at Suffolk County Police Station No. 3 and is scheduled to appear at Central Islip 1 Local Court on Saturday, July 22.
