On Thursday, July 20, around 11:20 p.m., Anibal Alvarado Rodriguez of Hempstead was pulled over by Nassau County Police while driving on Fulton Avenue near Nassau Plaza.

When police spoke to him, they reportedly noticed signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol on his breath.

Alvarado Rodriguez failed an on-site sobriety test and was arrested without incident, police said.

Two women and a one-year-old boy were also in the vehicle and were not injured, but the police report said the child was not properly secured in the car seat.

Alvarado Rodriguez was charged with the following counts:

  • Drink driving is serious driving under Leandra laws
  • endangering the welfare of children
  • Drunk driving
  • Multiple vehicle and traffic violations

He is due to appear at Hempstead 1 Local Court on Friday, July 21.
