According to Nassau County Police, the incident happened early Monday, July 17, at the Green Acres Mall.
Rodolfo Umana, 37, of Valley Stream was caught on surveillance cameras as he entered the mall’s enclosed basement delivery area around 4:15 a.m.
Umana was then seen entering the maintenance staff locker room, where he allegedly rummaged through boxes and caused damage to lockers.
Police searched the mall and found Umana trying to hide inside the Banter Jewelry Kiosk. He was arrested without incident.
Umana has been charged with burglary and is due to appear in First Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 18.
