Elise Finch, 51, died at a local hospital over the weekend, the network announced. The cause of death has not been determined.
Finch joined the station in 2007 and has been live on WCBS for 16 years.
A Westchester County native, she is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Georgetown University, then earned a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and completed Mississippi State University’s broadcast meteorology program.
“Elise was a talented and consummate professional who took her job extremely seriously,” WCBS said in an announcement of her death. “She was also a wonderful ambassador for the community, including her hometown of Mount Vernon.”
She is survived by her husband, WCBS photojournalist Graig Henriques, and daughter Grace.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
