Dallas is about to build two high-rise buildings.
Local developer Woods Capital is finalizing plans for a residence and an office building at 5115 McKinney Avenue near Highland Park, the Dallas Morning News reported. report.
The company bought the land last year for development.
Development costs are expected to be $70 million for each high-rise, which is expected to open in 2026, according to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulatory. The 20-story residential tower will be called “The English” and will be more than 368,000 square feet. It was designed by WDG Architecture.
The office building across the street is of similar height and occupies 200,000 square feet. It was designed by Baker Group.
Chief executive Jonas Woods told the media the company was working on pre-leasing and financing. The North Central Freeway corridor has recently become a hotspot for development. North of the Woods development, StreetLights Residential is developing another 20-story apartment building called Galatyn. Houston developer Hines and Dallas-based Stockdale Investment Group are planning two more towers in the neighborhood just south of Knox Street.

Woods Capital has been busy implementing an extensive office remodel program in downtown Dallas. The company acquired the 60-story UnionSignal Tower, which contains 1.5 million square feet of office space, and plans to renovate a portion of the building with a hotel and residences.
Woods Capital has completed the renovation of the Santander Tower and plans to add residences to the Bryant Tower. In total, more than 1,500 residential units will be relocated to downtown Dallas through the remodeling project.
