Six people, all juveniles, were arrested Thursday, July 13 in connection with a series of incidents in Oakdale in May 2023, according to Suffolk County Police.

The first incident occurred between May 25 and 29 when a group of men broke into the now-abandoned Dowling College grounds at 150 Free Time Boulevard, police said.

There, the group drew graffiti on the walls.

Another group of individuals was reported to have trespassed on both May 27 and May 29, consistent with incidents documented in videos previously released by SCPD.

An investigation by the Suffolk County Hate Crimes Unit arrested and charged the gang, including five 17-year-olds and one 18-year-old.

All 17-year-olds were charged with trespassing and one was also charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

The 18-year-old has been charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

All teens are scheduled to be arraigned on an undisclosed date.

The former university building, which closed in 2016, has seen multiple burglaries (and subsequent arrests), including the arrest in June of three teens who reportedly stole property from the building.
