A Mustique beach man was charged with murder on Wednesday in the killing of a Greenport man who died on July 3.

On June 30, Modesto Salguero-Guillen, 48, was found in his Lakeshore Garden Apartments home with serious injuries. He died three days later at Sound Shore University Hospital.

Suffolk County police said homicide detectives determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Hraklis Morris, 46, was arrested at his home in Cedar Court East and appeared at Southold Town Justice Court on Thursday, according to police on trial.

He was charged with second-degree murder.

Mr Morris encountered medical difficulties in court and had to be taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Southold Fire Department ambulance. He slumped on a chair in court and drank orange juice.

“Are you taking part?” Judge Erin Bowles asked Mr Morris.

Attorney Daniel Russo, representing Mr. Morris, has entered a plea of ​​not guilty. The District Attorney is represented by Rose Romeo.
