Nassau County Police said the incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, when a male pedestrian was struck by vehicles traveling on the Rockaway Turnpike near East Avenue in North Lawrence.
The vehicle then fled the scene.
The male victim suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation is ongoing.
