This happened on Tuesday, July 11th at around 11:40pm in Shirley.
Suffolk County Police said a man was crossing the road north in front of the Walgreens on Montauk Highway 863 when he was hit by a westbound SUV and fled the scene.
The victim was then run over by a westbound sedan, which fled north along William Floyd Boulevard.
The victim, David Arnold, 48, was flown by Suffolk County Police Department medevac helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Arnold was homeless.
