According to Nassau County Police, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 9 in Farmingdale.

A 16-year-old boy was traveling westbound on Park Avenue when his white 2011 Chrysler veered off the road and crashed into a house, according to reports.

When police arrived at the scene of the accident, they found the teen was slurred and administered a sobriety test.

In addition, there was a 15-year-old passenger in the car at the time of the accident. He was picked up from the scene by a family member.

No injuries were reported.

The teenage driver was arrested safely and charged with the following offences:

  • Drunk driving;
  • Exacerbated DWI;
  • DUI for children under 16 (Leandra’s Law); and
  • endanger the welfare of children.

He has also been charged with multiple traffic offences, and is expected to appear at First Magistrates Court on Monday, July 24.
