Longtime Southold resident Robert Walter Pritchard passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the age of 93.

Robert was born on August 11, 1929, in New York City, to Clara H. (née Hellman) and Robert Pritchard. He is one of three children.

He is a graduate of John Adams High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served two years during the Korean conflict, earning the rank of Private First Class.

On September 5, 1954, he married the love of his life, Agnes L. Fuchs, in Queens, New York. They had three children and eventually made their home in Southold.

They lived in Centereach, NY from 1954 to 1965 before joining Southold.

Robert worked as an operator for the New York Telephone Company for 25 years. He was also a member of the Griswold-Terry-Glover American Legion at 803 Southold.

Robert is survived by his wife, Agnes Pritchard. His children are Diane L. Kaczorowski of James Potter, Laura A. Iorio (Richard) of Manlius, NY and Robert E. Pritchard of Warwick; his grandsons Diane Needhart (Keith), Jason Iorio (Valesca), Justin Iorio (Natalia), Ryanan Perry (Michael), Miller Pritchard and Zachary Pritchard; his great-grandsons Carmen Iorio, Ryan Orio, Maria Iorio, Olivia Iorio, Anton Iorio, and Miria Iorio; and his brother, Herb A. of Lynbrook, N.Y. Pritchard and John “Jack” Pritchard of Milanville, Pennsylvania.

The family chose to commemorate Robert’s life privately at this time.

Memorial donations can be donated to North Fork Animal Welfare Alliance or Eastside Hospice.
