Since posting her query on Long Island Food and Drink facebook group On Tuesday, July 4th, nearly 100 people responded to Daume’s advice on where to find that perfect restaurant that’s often overlooked.

When the responses were tallied, Howard’s Cafe at 404 South Service Road in Pachog was the clear winner with nearly 40 recommendations.

“Love their burgers,” read one review.

“Definitely Howard’s,” wrote another.

The restaurant offers traditional pub food and drink, including two dozen burgers, sandwiches, salads and starters such as mozzarella sticks and potato skins.

Dinner specials include Chicken Cordon Bleu, Eggplant Parmesan, and French Shrimp.

in its popular dishes cry The page features baked clams, a bacon cheeseburger and a “special” sandwich made with roast beef and melted mozzarella on garlic bread.

“The food is delicious, the prices are very reasonable, and with very few additions, you can get beer or wine!” said one Yelp user. “You can’t go wrong.”

Another reviewer raved about the restaurant’s “incredible” drink specials and food quality.

“They serve generous portions, have the best sangria ever, and the galleon wings are amazing,” they wrote. “There is nothing else to do but praise this hidden treasure.”
