The Suffolk County District Attorney announced the indictment against Milton Jiron-Lara on Thursday, July 6. The 53-year-old Medford resident faces a total of five charges for allegedly abusing a young boy.

The incident began on Saturday, June 24, when Geelong-Lara attended a party at a neighbor’s house, the investigation said.

As the festivities came to a close in the early hours of Sunday, June 25, Jiron-Lara allegedly snuck into a bedroom where the 6-year-old victim was sleeping.

He bit the boy’s face twice, leaving bruises on both cheeks, according to the district attorney’s office.

He then reportedly sexually assaulted the child and asked him not to tell anyone what happened.

Later that morning, when his mother noticed bruises on his cheeks, the boy told him about the abuse.

“This defendant allegedly assaulted an unarmed child and then attempted to silence him,” District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said.

“Thankfully, the child was brave enough to speak to his mother about what allegedly happened.”

Now, Jiron-Lara is accused of:

  • Criminal Sexual Conduct (Felony)
  • Sexual abuse (felony)
  • Assault (felonies and misdemeanors)
  • endangering the welfare of children

He is due to appear in court again on Wednesday, July 26. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
