The Fourth of July holiday can be fun for you and your family, but it can create a very dangerous situation for your family pets.

Independence Day is a day to honor those who believed in our freedom and paved the way for every American to have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The Fourth of July holiday can be fun for you and your family, but it can create a very dangerous situation for your family pets. Roy Gross, superintendent of the SPCA of Suffolk County, said, “We may enjoy the barbecue too much, but the scraps fed to the dog can cause gastrointestinal problems. Keep your dog on a regular diet. , and be sure to ask your guests not to serve food to the table.” Give your pet food! Any change, even to a single meal, can cause your pet severe indigestion and diarrhea. Foods such as onions, chocolate, coffee, avocados, grapes and raisins, salt and yeast dough can all be potentially toxic to companion animals.

A few other helpful tips that might help keep your dog a little bit safer on July 4th:

Loud, crowded fireworks displays are no fun for pets, so resist the urge to take them to an Independence Day celebration. Instead, keep your little one away from noise and in a quiet, sheltered, escape-proof area of your home. Turn on some music to drown out the noise of the fireworks. Make sure your pet wears a collar and identification tag at all times.

The neighborhood festivities included loud fireworks and fireworks, and it was very hot. Treat your pet like a child.
