The incident took place at around 9.30am on Monday 4 July in New Hyde Park.
“There may be delays and cancellations on mainline trains due to a person on the tracks near New Hyde Park being hit by a train,” the Long Island Rail Road said in a statement.
Information about the condition of the victim has not been released.
