Reality star agent Mauricio Umanski will lead agents to the Tar Heels state.

Umansky Brokers has opened its first North Carolina office in Charlotte, with local brokers Erika Mendoza and Abigail Hine, according to a release. Abigail Hines Miller joins as managing partner. The opening of the office marks the firm’s 85th office opening.

Both Mendoza and Hines Miller joined the agency from Ives Jackson Christie’s International Realty, also a Charlotte-based brokerage. Mendoza has a reality TV pedigree — she hosts American Dream TV’s “For Sale Charlotte,” a show about the luxury real estate market in the Southern city.

The agency is known for its Los Angeles real-life roots. Founder and manager Umansky is married to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards, who is a regular on the show. Umansky also appeared on “Million Dollar Listing in Los Angeles” and “Buying Beverly Hills,” starring himself and The Agency agents, launched on Netflix in November.

While Umansky and the agency have been taking their place in the reality TV spotlight, the agency has also expanded nationally. In January, the brokerage opened an office in Palm Beach Gardens, marking the firm’s return to Palm Beach County after closing a Boca Raton store it opened in 2018. Last May, the brokerage firm acquired New York City-based Triplemint, bolstering its presence in the Big Apple. Not long after, Triplemint founder Tyler Whiteman pitched Umansky with a Hampton Inn, which opened there earlier this month.
