The incident occurred Saturday, June 24 in North New Hyde Park, according to Nassau County Police.

According to police, a man was driving back after purchasing an Apple Watch at the Apple Store in Roosevelt Field Mall, 630 Old Country Road, Garden City.

He was driving to another destination at around 7.40pm when he stopped at a red light near Lakeville Road and Fairfield Lane.

After he pulled over, a new gray Kia SUV driven by an unidentified female suspect pulled up behind the man’s vehicle, police said.

Authorities say the suspect, a man in his early 20s, approached the victim’s car with a center punch, a tool that can be used to break windows.

He shattered the driver’s side window behind the victim with a center punch, reached in and took the Apple Watch, then got back in the Kia and fled east along Evergreen Avenue.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
