The incident took place in Selden just after 5pm on Tuesday 27th June.
Suffolk Police said a 23-year-old Selden man was driving a 2009 Ford Escape heading south on Boyle Road when he was followed by a man on an electric scooter and two The vehicle collided north of Middle Country Road.
Motorcycle driver Henry Leib, 53, of Selden, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant at the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The driver of the Escape was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
