The air quality forecast for Wednesday, June 28 is unhealthy for western and central New York, and moderate for eastern New York and parts of New England.

Red areas in the AirNow.gov map above are projected to have very unhealthy air quality, orange indicates unhealthy air quality, and yellow indicates moderate air quality.

Most of Wednesday will be cloudy with temperatures above 70 degrees. There will be fresh showers and thunderstorms from noon to early evening.

The long period of unsettled weather finally came to an end on Thursday, June 29, with clear skies and temperatures in the mid-80s.

The amount of sunlight will depend on the amount of haze created by the wildfire smoke, as the air quality is expected to be worse as the smoke continues eastward.

The air quality on Friday, June 30 is also likely to be poor with mostly sunny temperatures in the 80s.
