Redco Development plans to build 126 apartments in San Jose.

The San Francisco-based developer has submitted preliminary plans for a seven-story complex at 940 Willow Street in Willow Glen, Reported by SF Yimby. It will replace a 5,000-square-foot building that includes a liquor store and fitness center.

126 apartments, over 1,800 square feet, with shops are planned on Willow and Kotenberg avenues.

It will utilize SB 330 expedited approval to provide an undisclosed amount of affordable housing to very low-, low-, or moderate-income households.

Designed by Studio Current, the 0.8-acre project will include 52 studio, 51 one-bedroom and 19 two-bedroom apartments, as well as four three-bedroom townhouse-style units, According to the East Bay Times.

According to the renderings, the apartments will be built on a white two-storey podium clad in stone or concrete. The next three layers will be covered in white, and the two layers above will be covered in gray. It will include large windows and balconies trimmed in brown.

The proposed development is just a few blocks from Willow Glen’s main retail corridor, Lincoln Avenue, and not far from the 280 freeway interchange.
