The U.S. Coast Guard, Hempstead Bay Police Department and Long Beach Fire Department are assisting in the search for the injured teenager.
The Office of Public Information reported a motorboat accident at Point Lookout on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 12:46 noon.
According to police, two male teenagers, aged 15 and 16, collided while riding a jet ski on Jones Beach Inlet. The 16-year-old victim suffered a compound fracture to her leg.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Hempstead Bay Police and the Long Beach Fire Department assisted in locating the injured teenager and bringing him to shore at West Pier at 1401 Lido Drive.
The victim was flown by Nassau County Police helicopter to a nearby hospital where he was evaluated and treated in a stable condition. The other teenager was unhurt at the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
