Suffolk County Police said the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 25 at 83 E. Booker Ave. in Wyandanch.
When police arrived, they found the victim in the backyard with gunshot wounds.
The man, Frederick Jackson, 37, from Wyandanch, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
