According to Nassau County Police, the incident happened on Thursday, June 22, on Merrick Road near the intersection of Massapequa Joludow Drive.
At around 8:30 p.m., a 74-year-old man was driving a white 2019 Genesis sedan traveling west when it collided with a blue 2015 Honda Pilot traveling east.
Genesis’ driver was seriously injured.He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition at press time
The driver of the Honda, a 56-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries to his wrist.
Both vehicles were towed away for security checks.
The investigation is still ongoing, officials said.
