To date, no illnesses have been linked to the recall, the FDA said.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and even fatal infections in young children, the frail or elderly, and others with weakened immune systems.
While healthy people may experience only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriage and stillbirth in pregnant women.
