It happened on Monday 19 June at around 2.30pm in Malverne.
Nassau County police said a 69-year-old man was working on a construction site for a Malvern home when he was struck by a Bobcat excavator operated by a 29-year-old man.
The victim, who has not been identified, was critically injured and was transported by Nassau County Police helicopter to a local hospital for treatment. He is in critical condition.
