Southold Town police say a Hampton Jitney bus was turning onto Interstate 25 from Moores Lane when a motorcycle collided with it.
Two people were killed in a tragic chartered van crash in Greenport on Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Southold Town police said a Hampton Jitney bus was turning onto Interstate 25 from Moores Lane at about 6 p.m. when a motorcycle collided with it.
Emergency crews took the motorcycle driver, Anthony Gallo, 62, and his passenger, Lorraine Haeg, 74, to Stony Brook East Long Island Hospital; upon arrival, Gallo was pronounced dead.
Haeg was then transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she also succumbed to her injuries a short time later.
The 52-year-old bus driver was treated at a local hospital in a non-life-threatening condition before being released.
Police said they were investigating the incident.
