Rabies is a deadly but preventable viral disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control website.


The Brookhaven Township Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre, Suffolk County Health Services and TNR Team will be hosting a free rabies clinic on Saturday, July 29th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. It includes free rabies vaccines for dogs, cats and ferrets and FVRCP or DAPPCV vaccines for dogs and cats. Dogs must be on a leash and cats/ferrets must be in crates. The Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 3:30pm, Saturday 10:00am to 3:30pm and Sunday 11:00am to 3:30pm.
