Rolling Spring Roll at Commack at 6120 Jericho Turnpike has a grand opening mid-April 2023.
“Offering authentic and fresh Vietnamese cuisine for Long Island,” reads the restaurant’s sign Facebook Page.
It marks the third location for the business, which started out as a food truck run by aspiring Vietnamese chef Joe Bui in March 2012.
He wants to introduce Long Islanders to the delicious, healthy food he grew up with, read websiteThe name “The Rolling Spring Roll” is a nod to his mother’s most famous spring roll recipe.
“Since it was delivered by truck, Joe expected he’d be ‘rolling’ around Long Island, and so the name ‘Rolling Spring Rolls’ was born.”
A year later, a full-service restaurant opened in Farmingdale, followed by a second restaurant in Syosset.
decorative menu There are several appetizers, or “dishes,” including spring rolls, dumplings, and Tan Binh chicken wings, made with crispy fried chicken glazed in a sweet and spicy sauce.
There are also several varieties of pho, a Vietnamese soup made with broth, rice noodles, herbs, and thinly sliced meat (usually beef).
For mains, diners can choose from the Pork Banh Mi sandwich, made with grilled pork belly, Cha (Vietnamese cold cut meat), and a special pate on fresh baguette slices, served with cilantro , Cucumbers, Pickled Carrots And Turnips.
There’s also the Angus Short Ribs, which features grilled marinated sliced short ribs served over vermicelli noodles or rice with fresh herbs, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and vinaigrette.
Since opening, The Rolling Spring Roll has garnered high marks from online critics, including East Northport’s Vincent R, who comes here with his son for spring rolls and hor fun.
“I’m so glad they finally made it to Commack!” he wrote cry“We each wolfed down a king sized pho, the broth was absolutely delicious and we each ended up drinking the soup from the bowl. I highly recommend you check out this new location.”
Alisa T. of Katy, Texas, was equally impressed after a recent visit.
“This is the best Vietnamese restaurant on Long Island. I ordered beef and seafood pho, spring rolls, egg rolls, dumplings and iced coffee, and it was delicious,” she says on Yelp.
“The owner is very nice and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommended!”
