“With the warm, sunny days of summer fast approaching, all residents will have daily access to our swimming pool beginning Saturday, June 24,” said Superintendent Saladino.


Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that all community pools in the Township of Oyster Bay will be open for the season beginning Saturday, June 24. The Town of Oyster Bay operates five pool facilities including Bethpage Community Park, Marjorie Post Community Park, Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park, Syosset-Woodbury Community Park, and a saltwater pool at Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing.


“With the warm, sunny days of summer fast approaching, all residents will have daily access to our swimming pool beginning Saturday, June 24,” said Superintendent Saladino. “Town Pool membership offers many amenities for families and seniors, including upgraded restrooms, pool deck furniture, picnic benches and umbrellas.”


From Saturday, June 24th through Labor Day Monday, September 4th, the pool is open daily from 11am to 7pm, weather permitting. In addition, extended hours of operation to 8pm, the following services will be provided at the following locations (weather permitting) according to the following schedule:


  • on Monday: Theosset-Woodbury

  • Tuesday: Plainview – Old Bethpage

  • Wednesday: Bethpage

  • Thursday: Marjorie Post

  • Friday: All swimming pools are open late, including Tappen


Pool memberships are available at each park location. Membership at the community park pool is available to both park area residents and non-park area residents. Daily entry fees, nanny memberships and group visits are also available. In addition to the state-of-the-art new facilities at our facility, the town offers swimming lessons at the local pool for residents ages five and up. Registration for swimming lessons can be requested online at oysterbaytown.com/portal and there are four swimming lessons to choose from.


The town will also offer swim teams this summer at outdoor pools at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park and Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa. Residents of Oyster Bay Township ages 6 to 16 are eligible to register for the swimming program. Practices will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am starting Wednesday 29 June. Swim meeting will be held on Saturday morning and class meeting will be held on Tuesday afternoon. Timetables will be distributed during the first week of practice.
