Peter Kent, a 61-year-old man from North Babylon, hit the center rail before returning across the driveway, hitting his right shoulder and hitting a tree, police said.
According to New York State Police, on Thursday, June 8, 2023, just before 3 p.m., a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Peter Kent, 61, of North Babylon, N.Y., was at Southern State Park near Exit 32 Drive east on the boulevard to the town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County.
Initial investigations indicated that while traveling eastbound, the vehicle left the lane and hit the center rail, before the vehicle returned across the lane, hit the right shoulder and hit a tree. Kent was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
