Suffolk Police were initially called to reports of a theft from the Quantitative Laboratory in Ronkonkoma, Pond Road, at around 3:30am on Wednesday 7 May.

While searching the building for the suspect, officers found chemicals and equipment consistent with the methamphetamine operation, police said.

Investigators also reported finding solid and liquid methamphetamine, as well as ketamine, cocaine and $40,000 in cash.

The owner of the business, Matthew Leshinsky, 23, of Levittown, was arrested on charges of:

  • First Degree Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Two counts of second-degree possession of a controlled substance
  • Five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
  • Third degree illicit manufacture of methamphetamine

Leshinsky is expected to be arraigned at First Local Court in Central Islip on Thursday, June 8.
