The 45-year-old South Huntington resident, who was not named by prosecutors to protect the victim’s identity, pleaded guilty in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, May 31 to first-degree rape.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the accused admitted that his 21-year-old daughter had spent the night with him in February 2022 when he gave her Advil PM.

The woman later woke up to find her father stroking her back and buttocks.

When she realized what was happening, the man held her arm and forcibly raped her, according to prosecutors.

She eventually escaped and ran to a relative who lived nearby.

The victim told police her father had sexually abused her as a child.

“This defendant not only committed a horrific crime, but also violated his duties as a father when he sexually assaulted his own daughter,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a statement.

“This request ensures that the defendant will serve a lengthy prison sentence for her actions, and that the victim will not have to relive the trauma she experienced as she testified at trial.”

The accused could face up to 25 years in prison, according to state sentencing guidelines. He will return to court for sentencing on Wednesday, July 19.
