The Coliseum Inn in East Meadow has been condemned and closed due to “unsafe and unsanitary conditions,” Hempstead Township Supervisor Don Clavin said in a statement.


People staying at the motel at 1650 Hempstead Turnpike were evicted by police; a Hempstead town spokesman confirmed they were helping displaced people find new hotel accommodation.
