All six workers were arrested during a compliance inspection of several Suffolk businesses on Tuesday, May 30, according to Suffolk Police.

Of the 11 businesses inspected, investigators said employees at the following stores were arrested for selling vaping, marijuana products or alcohol to underage customers:

Tobacco and alcohol convenience storeNortheast Port on Laurel Road

  • Mayank Kumar Patel35, of East Northport, was charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child for selling alcohol to a minor and second-degree unlawful dealing with a child, both misdemeanors

Green Leaf Tobacco ShopHuntington at Greenlawn on Broadway

  • Michael Jackson23, of Greenlawn, was charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the second degree (misdemeanor)

Smoke Bazaar Cigar ShopGreenlawn at Greenlawn on Broadway

  • Bassam al Rohani33, of Valley Stream, was charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the second degree (misdemeanor)

  • Ryan Francis24, of East Northport, was charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the second degree (misdemeanor)

Oasis Smoke ShopNortheast Port on Laurel Road

  • Juan Daniel Veliz Hernandez22, of East Northport, was charged with unlawful dealing with a child in the second degree (misdemeanor)

East Northport Smoke ShopEast Northport on Larkfield Road

  • Carl Brusgen21, of Fort Salonga, charged with unlawful sale of marijuana, illegal

All six employees were released and later appeared at Central Islip 1 District Court.
