According to the Suffolk County Police Department, the incident happened on Sunday, May 28 at around 12:10 a.m. on the shores of the North Sound.

The two victims, a 17-year-old boy and a male acquaintance, were standing on the corner of Benton Place and Pine Acres Boulevard when they were shot.

The teenager was hit twice and needed to be taken to a local hospital for treatment.

His acquaintance was grazed by bullets but refused medical attention, police said.

The shooter is currently unknown.
