TW Garner Food Company is voluntarily recalling 50,688 12-ounce bottles of Texas Pete’s Buffalo Wing Sauce because, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), some of the bottles may contain Texas Pete® Tween and wing sauce.

Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy may be at risk of serious or life-threatening anaphylaxis if they consume this product, the FDA states

This product is recognizable as 12 oz. Orange sauce in a glass jar called Texas Pete’s Buffalo Wing Sauce. The only affected product has a best before date of 12-06-23, followed by T 065239 printed on the product bottle cap. (See picture above.)

No illness has been reported so far.

The recall was initiated after a direct customer reported finding a bottle labeled Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce instead of Texas Pete Extra Mild Wing Sauce.

Bottles of Texas Pete® Buffalo Wing Sauce lack a soy allergen statement. Investigations indicated that the problem was caused by the wrong label being used during part of the production process.
