According to Nassau County Police, around 6:45 a.m. Thursday, May 25, a delivery truck driver, driven by Maxwell Taylor, 56, collided with multiple vehicles in East Meadow and North Bellmore, including a school bus.
Taylor, a resident of Amsterdam, was driving a Freightliner tractor truck heading south on the Neubridge Road near Falcon Street when the side view mirror of his truck hit a school bus.
There were 18 student passengers in the bus.
Taylor continued to drive into North Bellmore, collided with seven occupied vehicles near the 2450 Jerusalem Avenue Stop & Shop, and eventually overturned in the store parking lot.
In total, a 16-year-old student, four adults and two children were slightly injured.
Taylor, who was also treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, was arrested without further incident.
He was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of an accident and is expected to return to First District Court on Wednesday, June 14.
