So-called “long-term COVID” refers to those who experience the effects of infection for months or longer.

findings, Published Thursday, May 25 in the medical journal JAMAalso identified 12 symptoms of “Long COVID”:

  • Post-exertional malaise (increased fatigue after physical or mental activity)
  • fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • brain fog
  • loss of smell or taste
  • gastrointestinal symptoms
  • heart palpitations
  • Thirsty
  • chronic cough
  • chest pain
  • libido or performance problems
  • Abnormal movement

A total of 9,764 adults participated in the study, 8,646 of whom had COVID-19.
