Flora’s Pizza Cafe at 637 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset opens March 2023.

This restaurant has already attracted a lot of attention for its Italian cuisine and cozy atmosphere.

Owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Ervis and Gabriella, who met while working at an Italian restaurant in New York, Flora’s Pizza Cafe offers a variety of pizza and pasta dishes, as well as salads and appetizers.

“I went to Flora’s last night and got an A++!” wrote Mindy S. of Chicago on the restaurant’s Yelp page.

“For mains, I had my favorite cacio e pepe. The last time I had this dish was a month ago in Rome, Italy, so the bar is high,” Mindy wrote.

“I was very impressed! It was delicious and the pasta was so fresh!“

Everything at Flora’s seems to be homemade—the pizza dough, focaccia and pasta are freshly made (Ervis is from Italy, after all)—and that sets it apart from other restaurants.

“Don’t let the pizza counter fool you — this is not your simple local pizzeria,” wrote Syosset resident Amanda J.

Amanda gave rave reviews to every dish she tasted at the restaurant, but her highlight was also the black pepper cheese: This dish had her “mouth singing – literally – I’m humming and dancing for joy  !”

She also sampled the restaurant’s La Colorata pizza, which is topped with red sauce, pink sauce and ricotta pesto: “It’s so beautiful,” Amanda wrote.

As one reviewer wrote, Flora’s uses local and Italian ingredients to offer authentic and creative food with a modern “Little New York vibe.”
