The fire started on Tuesday, May 23 just after 3 a.m. in Williston Park on Lafayette Street near Herricks Road.
The identity of the woman who was found dead inside the home has not been released.
Seven people left the home safely engulfed in flames. Nassau County police said they were taken to a local hospital for evaluation for smoke inhalation. They are listed as stable.
Garden City Park and Mineola Fire Departments responded and extinguished the blaze. The Nassau County Fire Marshal was at the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
