The issue was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS of a customer who observed pistachios in ready-to-eat regular deli deli meat products during the slicing process.

There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that certain products may be located in refrigerators and freezers in delis and food service establishments. Delis and food service establishments are urged not to serve these products.

Consumers who have purchased these products and are allergic to pistachios should not consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS conducts periodic recall effectiveness checks to verify that the recalling firm notified its customers of the recall and took steps to ensure that consumers do not purchase the product. When available, retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
