On May 17, 2023, Peter B. Stevens of Southold passed away peacefully at Stony Brook University Hospital after a brief illness.
Peter was born on October 21, 1935 to Dr. and Mrs. CC Stevens and was raised in Roslyn, NY. He moved to North Fork in the early 60’s and opened an art gallery in Southold. Over the years he has worked as a professional photographer for local newspapers, weddings and for Bob Berks documenting his work on monuments, but Peter’s best memory is sitting in his Greenport used bookstore Outside the “Book Scouts”.
Peter is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Moffat) Stevens, and his two sons, Aaron (Sunshine Bishop) of Burlington, WA, and Matthew of Stuyvesant, NY (Dacia Faison-Roy), and their mother Ellen Neff Greenport. He is the grandfather of Hunter, ZannaSue and Kadin Stevens. Peter was preceded by his parents, sister Marilyn Stevens and his granddaughter Winter Stevens.
A private celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a later date.
